Ashley is a Professor in the School of Earth Sciences at Ohio State University. His expertise is in Structural Geology and Geomechanics, with a focus on the development and dynamic behavior of brittle structures in rocks through geological field observations, experimental rock and fracture mechanics, and continuum mechanical models. He has been co-Lead in Earthquake Geology on the Science Planning Committee at SCEC since 2019.
