About Me Publications
My research focuses on fault mechanics and earthquake physics across a range of spatiotemporal scales, from steady sliding at plate velocities to fast earthquakes. I combine fracture mechanics, numerical modeling and earthquake statistics to reveal how local fault processes give rise to large-scale seismic behavior, with particular emphasis on questions relevant to seismic hazard - where and how earthquakes nucleate, what determines rupture complexity, and what limits their final size.
