Duties in Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Water Engineering & Technical Services, Geology Group include, but are not limited to, participation in and supervision of geological and hydrogeological investigations for engineering applications in the Water and Power systems. Projects include work at existing dam sites, planning and design of new dam sites for Water System, portions of the Los Angeles Aqueduct, existing and replacement tanks, trunk lines, and pump stations, and legal claims involving residential and commercial sites in California. Work includes time totaling 20 weeks spent as an acting supervisor of a Geology Squad in the Geology Group. General supervisory responsibilities include oversight of field procedures, direction of field crews, supervision of consultants, and organization of presentations and deliverables to summarize results and interpretations.
