Publications
Katina Carranza is a Mathematics and Computer Science undergraduate from Pasadena City College. Her technical focus is Machine Learning. During SCEC SOURCES 2024, Katina worked with a team to demystify earthquakes using virtual reality and 3D printing. In addition, she is a member of SheCodes, Pi Club, and PCC Stem. She plans to continue contributions to education research.
Prior to working on SOURCES Internship, she interned as a software developer at SAP Concur on their NUI Expense team. Also, she participated on the Caltech LIGO Study group where she was able to acquire addition knowledge about the large data handled by LIGO team.
In her spare time, she is a lifelong learning and loves to learn as much about new technology by exploring them, learning about new cultures by learning new languages, and learn about nature by spending time outdoors with family and friends.
