Asenath Kwagalakwe, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Geophysics at California State University, Northridge. Her current work, in collaboration with Dr. Eileen L. Evans, as the PI, focuses on the project "Linking Fault Slip and Near-Surface Deformation on the Southern San Andreas Fault at Mecca Hills, California." She recently earned her PhD in Geophysics from Virginia Tech, where she worked in the Geodesy and Technophysics Lab, advised by Dr. D. Sarah Stamps.

Dr. Kwagalakwe graduated from Makerere University with a B.S. in Geology in May 2013, followed by an M.Sc. in Geology in May 2017. In January 2021, she began her PhD in Geophysics at Virginia Tech.

Her research interests focus on understanding how and why the Earth's lithosphere deforms in specific zones, such as fault zones and rift systems, across a broad range of spatial and temporal scales. She uses precise measurements of ground motion (geodesy) alongside computational models of the Earth's interior (geodynamics) to investigate these localized deformation processes.
