Over the decades, scientists and engineers have generated profoundly important insights regarding earthquake risk, impacts, and recovery. Yet, in many cases, available evidence is not being used or acted upon by decisionmakers or members of the public. This presentation will review factors that can help to close the science-to-action gap through drawing on case examples of interdisciplinary and participatory research.
