Valeria is a geophysicist with a PhD in Science and Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Her research focuses on the seismic cycle in subduction zones, using geodetic data inversion to model slip and coupling. She holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Geophysics from the University of Chile and has worked as a seismic analyst at the National Seismological Center of Chile. Additionally, she has completed research stays at GFZ in Germany and the Australian National University, contributing to national and international research projects. She also received funding from SZNet to conduct a research stay at UC Berkeley. Valeria has contributed to diverse projects, including tsunami wave inversion, fault rupture dynamics, and the installation of geodetic equipment. Her goal is to contribute to seismic and tsunami risk mitigation through geoscientific research.
