Edward Salcido is the webmaster who works with the Engagement & Education team for The Statewide California Earthquake Center. He is tasked with maintaining and improving the user experience, security and performance for the four flagship websites and its activities: The Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills (shakeout.org), Earthquake Country Alliance (earthquakecountry.org), The TsunamiZone (tsunamizone.org), and Earthquake Country Alliance-Spanish version (terremotos.org).
Edward has a background in Web, Data and Software development in the fields of Education, Data Analytics and Insurance. With a degree in Computer Science from Cal State University, Northridge, Edward started as a webmaster/intern for Farmers insurance and worked on updating and improving their employee dashboard. He joined the Data Loading team at J.D. Power and furthered his understanding of data analysis with web development. From there, he then worked on a project with the University of La Verne updating and redesigning their website and led to a role with USC at their auxiliary services strengthening his experience with larger audiences and tech stacks including Wordpress, php and javascript.
He loves dancing salsa and working on projects that involve the latest technologies in web/internet of things such as raspberry pi microcontrollers and Arduino.
