About Me
Publications
I’m a first-generation college student and aspiring computer scientist with a strong passion for using technology to solve real-world problems. I was born and raised in Panama, and at the age of 16, I made the life-changing decision to pursue my education in the United States.
During my SCEC SOURCES Internship, I am contributing to seismic risk research in collaboration with the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) and Verisk Analytics. My primary focus is integrating CyberShake physics-based ground motion simulations with the OpenQuake risk modeling platform. This work enhances seismic risk analysis for California case studies by incorporating complex geological phenomena such as rupture directivity, 3D basin effects, and wave propagation dynamics. Through this research, I’m gaining hands-on experience with advanced modeling tools, collaborating with scientists and engineers, and helping improve earthquake preparedness and resilience strategies across the state.
