Christopher Tobar is a computer science undergraduate student at California State University, Long Beach. His major focus is computer science with an interest in cyber security, and he is a member of the professional engineering fraternity, Theta Tau. His expected graduation is Fall 2021. He currently has a great deal of experience working with databases and algorithms, along with software and hardware for open source electronics platforms.
Prior to working as a SCEC intern, he worked as a tutor teaching kids from 6-12 grade about engineering principles like mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. After graduating, he plans to pursue a Master's degree in computer science or education.
In his spare time, he likes to read books, listen to music ranging from "oldies" to current, go outdoors, and learn about current technology and cyber security principles. He enjoys spending time with his soon-to-be wife and his English bulldog.
