Ariel is a senior at the University of California, Bakersfield with plans to graduate in the Spring of 2021 with a B.S. degree in Geology. In the SCEC community he is a SOURCES intern with the project titled Watching the Earth evolve by accessing and visualizing high-rate GPS data across the western United States. The work for the project largely involves image analysis of interpolated GPS data across southern California, relying heavily on Python’s matplotlib, pyDMD, and numpy tools.
Other organizations he is involved in are AAPG, SJGS, and the Geology club at this university as a treasurer. His geologic Interests are driving him toward a career, and a potential master's degree, in either Economic Geology or Hydrogeology. His auxiliary scholastic pursuits are in Computer Science and Economics.
