Project Abstract |
Prediction of earthquakes is a major goal of earthquake science. This work paved the way to forecasting and prediction using numerical simulations. |
Intellectual Merit | Developed theory and methods to forecast great earthquakes using numerical simulations. |
Broader Impacts | Earthquake forecasts can be used to set earthquake insurance rates and to evaluate the safety of cat bonds. |
