Cloud Computing and Big Data – Ridgecrest DAS dataset in the Amazon Cloud (s3://scedc-pds us-west-2 region.)
- To support the SCEC community’s exploration of DAS datasets, and to develop use cases for community standards in its archival, the SCEDC is hosting 30 days (2020/06/23 - 2020/07/29, ~4TB) of the Ridgecrest DAS dataset in its AWS Open Dataset. (s3://scedc-pds/Ridgecrest_DAS). The data, sampled at 250 Hz, is in SEG-Y format and organized into hourly files.
- We will highlight a Jupyter notebook demonstrating how to retrieve DAS data, and how to window and down sample data using AWS services.
