Project Abstract |
This report summarizes the recent SCEC workshop on coordinating post-earthquake data collection. The report is organized in three sections: Overview, Summary, and Conclusions & Next Steps. An Appendix documents the recommendations developed during the group discussions. |
Intellectual Merit | Coordinated rapid post-earthquake response is critical for collecting ephemeral data following significant earthquakes. The workshop brought together an interdisciplinary group of geoscientists and agency representatives to review, discuss, and update best practices for post-earthquake response. This report documents the proceedings of the workshop and recommendations for improving post-earthquake response led by the SCEC Community. |
Broader Impacts | The workshop included participation from both within and outside of the SCEC Community, including representatives from other states as well as internationally. The outcomes and recommendations from the workshop have broad applicability to post-earthquake science response globally. We expect the international participation from this workshop will develop future collaborations with the international community. |
