Intellectual Merit

This project developed advanced techniques for high-resolution source imaging by seismic arrays. The technique was applied to study significant recent earthquakes at regional and teleseismic distances. These observations provide constraints on the physics of dynamic rupture at the bottom of seismogenic zones and its relation to high-frequency radiation. |
Broader Impacts
|
This project supported training of two graduate students. The techniques developed can provide rapid estimation of rupture length and directivity, which can contribute to post-earthquake response. |
