Intellectual Merit The workshop included discussions on constraints on behavior at the base of the seismogenic zone in the context of seismic tremor, laboratory rock friction experiments, and geodetic and seismic observations. This exchange of ideas accelerates advancing scientific knowledge in these areas.
Broader Impacts A portion of the workshop was dedicated to training graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and researchers in the use of state-of-the-art crustal deformation modeling software. The workshop also provided the opportunity for graduate students and postdocs to become engaged in the scientific community via informal discussions with faculty and researchers.
