Intellectual Merit This study addresses theoretical constraints on the down-dip extent of large earthquake rupture as needed by the WGCEG to determine magnitude area relations for use in calculating the next rupture forecast.
Broader Impacts This study has not contributed to the broader impacts of scec as whole through teaching, learning and training, as defined. However we hope that it will in the future as part of undergraduate research project in collaboration with Greg Hirth at Brown University.
